Doctor Jay Park is a co-founder of Cosmetic Medical Training. He has been training medical providers on the botulinum toxin and dermal filler injection technique for over 10 years. Dr. Park is board certified in Emergency Medicine. He attended medical school at George Washington University in DC. He was the chief resident at his residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC. He had opened up two medical spas in Florida and has been working as a consultant for start up aesthetic practices throughout the USA.

Eligibility and State Scope of Practice
Rules for PRP and microneedling differ by state and by license type. In general:
- PRP and PRF require drawing a patient's blood. Who may do this, and under what supervision, is set by your state.
- Microneedling is regulated differently from state to state. Some states limit which licenses may perform it, restrict needle depth, or require physician supervision for deeper treatment.
- Devices and kits used to prepare PRP and PRF are regulated by the FDA. The way PRP is used in aesthetic treatments may be outside a device's cleared labeling.
- Your medical director, malpractice carrier and state board are the authorities for what you may do.
We recommend you check your state board's rules before enrolling and before offering any service. Completing this course does not by itself authorize you to perform any procedure.
Safety, Risks and Contraindications Covered in the Course
PRP and microneedling are not risk-free. Our training covers, in educational terms, how to screen patients and recognize problems early.
Risks discussed in the course include:
- Bruising, swelling, redness and discomfort at the treatment site
- Infection, especially if sterile technique is not followed
- Prolonged redness, pigmentation changes, or scarring (microneedling)
- Vascular complications in higher-risk facial areas (for example, the undereye and nasojugal region)
- Variable or limited results; outcomes differ between patients
Patient screening topics include: active skin infection or inflammation at the treatment site, blood disorders or use of anticoagulant medication, active cancer or immunosuppression, pregnancy and breastfeeding, tendency toward keloid scarring, and recent isotretinoin use. These are covered as screening and referral topics. Final treatment decisions belong to the licensed clinician.
Informed consent: Patients should understand the procedure, risks, alternatives and the fact that PRP in aesthetics is often an off-label use of cleared devices. The course includes consent and documentation guidance.
